MTA was founded in 2005 by Debra and Alan Merrill when they "saw a need" to bring Technology Smart Systems Expertise and Customer Service Excellence to every Project Engagement!
Debra had previously started and operated several 'creative' businesses and Alan had worked for more than 20 years in both technical and senior technology management positions.
From their combined professional experience came the formation of an independent professional firm that specialized in Technology Smart Systems design, planning, and project management. They wanted to ensure that a business could find a professional firm when they needed help to strategically define technology requirements, design the systems and then seamlessly shift to project manage the implementation to ensure that their clients received exactly what they expected and what was designed all within a budget. It seemd to make more sense than hiring the guys who made their money off selling the systems they designed. They had the drive, professional experience, and customer service expertise that their clients deserved. And thus Merrill Technology Architechs was formed. Their multi-disciplinary team at MTA has successfully completed many complex and diverse PROJECTS including new K-12 Schools, Higher Education Facilities, High-Tech Hotels, Conference Centers, Data Centers, Justice Centers and State and Federal projects.
Debra and Alan are also involved in community service organizations. Years ago they each separately served as volunteer missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Debra serving for 18 months in Panama where she learned to read and speak Spanish and Alan serving for 2 years in Taiwan where he learned to read and speak Manadarin Chinese. Alan has been actively involved for many years in The Boy Scouts of America having earned his Eagle Scout and now is a lifetime member of The National Eagle Scout Association. Alan and Debra enjoy spending time with their family and developing other creative interests.
